Traditional hollow glass microspheres have the problems of hydrophilic surface and poor compatibility with organic resins. After modification with silane coupling agent, their surface polarity changes, the bonding force with coating resins is enhanced, and the dispersibility is improved, avoiding sedimentation. The modified hollow glass microspheres added to the external wall thermal insulation coating can reduce the thermal conductivity of the coating to below 0.028W/(m·K), and the thermal insulation effect is increased by more than 30% compared with traditional coatings. In thermal insulation mortar, adding hollow glass microspheres in a proportion of 10%-15% can reduce the mortar density by 20% while maintaining good compressive strength and reducing the wall load. These microspheres also have fire resistance, do not burn at high temperatures and do not release harmful gases, improving the fire safety level of buildings. With the continuous improvement of green building standards, the application demand of hollow glass microspheres in energy-saving building materials continues to grow, and relevant enterprises are also constantly optimizing the modification process to further improve the comprehensive performance of products.
