In traffic safety products such as reflective films and reflective clothing, solid glass beads play a key role in light refraction and regression, and their refractive index directly affects the reflective effect. By adjusting the proportion of titanium dioxide and silicon dioxide in the glass composition, high-specification products with a refractive index of 1.9-2.1 can now be produced, and the reflective intensity is increased by more than 50% compared with traditional products. These glass beads have a particle size controlled at 40-80μm and are evenly distributed on the surface of the reflective material. When light is irradiated, they can accurately reflect the light back to the light source, extending the night visibility distance from more than 300 meters to more than 500 meters. In expressway signs, the use of reflective films containing such glass beads can remain clearly visible even in rainy or foggy days, reducing the risk of traffic accidents. In production, the weather resistance of glass beads is further improved through surface coating technology, making them less likely to age in high temperature and high humidity environments, and their service life is extended to more than 10 years. With the advancement of transportation infrastructure construction, the demand for high-refractive-index solid glass beads continues to grow, becoming a key material in the traffic safety field.
